​Teasl in IIUM

The course has the objective to produce professionally trained graduate teachers in these areas who uphold the Islamic philosophy of education and are committed to serve the country and ummah; to serve the growing need of the country in producing teachers in these areas who possess the integrated personality and the tawhidic worldview and act as excellent role models for the younger generation; to embody, revitalize, and produce graduates from this programme that exemplify in themselves the IIUM mission of Islamization, Internationalization, Integration and Comprehensive Excellent (IIICE).

TESL in Institute of Education is one of the programmes offer in IIUM. This programme is offered at the undergraduate level.  For full-time students, we need to complete the course in 4 years and IIUM is also offered the course for Long Distance Learning (LDL).  In 4 years, we need to complete 20 credit hours of University Required Courses, 24 credit hours of Institute Core Courses, 61 credit hours of Programme Major Courses and 30 credit hours of Minor Courses. Thus, the total credit hour for graduation is 135.  For tuition fee, its amount is RM510.00 per semester. The environment of learning here is very convenience and the lecturers are the expert in their fields.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:​

​(B.ED TESL)

 

 

 

• At least 2A in English Language at the SPM Level or equivalent; AND​
• At least B Grade in the English Literature at the STPM level or equivalent; AND
• Obtained at least Band 4 in the “Malaysian University English Test” (MUET); AND
• A credit in Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent; AND
• A credit in any three (3) subjects in SPM/equivalent.
